Pearson 1982 69 Museum specials caught under Palo, all in two burrows, almost all under Salsipuea brush. Sets of Salsipuea twigs cut by tucos, then resprouting from below the cut. Some lesser Salsipuea bushes have real leaves, others just the twisted gray-green twigs. Sets of big black beetles lumbering around. Then drove to Cordón Bonete and camped near where the track up to the Epeloserre brook off from the dirt lane. Sets of Salsipuea here and tucos signs. One big Salsipuea on its own mound of earth had several twigs cut larger than pencils, and one of them was cut more than 12 inches above the ground; the tucos must have climbed up into the branches. Weather mixed sun, clouds, occasional hail, windy until sunset. Temp. at 8pm 34°F. Mar. 10 Night mostly clear, fierce wind came up in middle of the night, minimum -4°C. Morning clear, cold breeze. The net traps trap lines had 1 also pantlho, around camp 1 tucos. Grid network kept 1 also pantho at I7; topes #99 but forgot to weigh, I set it x Checked grid in afternoon - nothing. Then put out more snag traps under Salsipuea at the 10km WSW Comallo hazelly. During the day caught 1 tucos and 1 also pantlho there. Also put out some more traps in Salsipuea around camp. Day was scattered sun, cold, and windy windy all day. Temp at noon 45°, at 2:30 50°, at 7pm 45°,
