steel traps and 20 ms] caught 6 also longi. auta's upper line [10 Sherman, 2 steel, 29 ms] caught 7 also longi, 1 Cholempo, 1 hood. The vegetation in our trap lines here was primarily low prickly bushes, scattered, such as Chujunuraga, Barberia, Adesmia, a few scruffy weeds, and some robust, yellow-berbed, strong leguminous bushes with "needles" instead of corland leaves. Like Adesmia, also a very shiny willow grass and a shiny bunchgrass, all growing on very stony but loose soil, also occasional Lolletia and Agorella, Grazed by goats, sheep, cattle, horses. Broke camp about 11 a.m. Stopped at the gorgeous new ski resort, Valle de las Cienegas, and asked 2 guys what its elevation is. They said 2800 m. This would put our camp and specimens at about 3000 m (5 km up the valley by running road). When we hiked up the Valley we probably went about 5 hrs, = 40 km E of Volcan Peteroa. A man riding a mule came through camp. When asked about Valle de las Cienegas he had never heard of it (worked two other people), but he said "Cieldeces" just about 7 hrs up the valley in very short, sparse, vegetation. We saw no vegetation that I would associate with Acosampas, and no camoufles.
