No. 24 Pamfo de Achola. Left Rio Cuarta of S, drove towards Condoiu, then west to the Pamfo do achola.
The climb up to the Pamfo quickly leaves trees behind and turns into smooth granitic outcrops, close green turf, and burkgrass (soft stifea, big coarse clumps) shallow dark soil. a few Polylepis trees in the steep arragas. some of them more than 1 ft in diameter, others only little seedlings. lots of marshy places and some little creeks. Croised second trail Jaime Polo's, found droppings of Reithrodon and a small Cryptocomorphs. Then set traps until dusk. I put 5 steel, 7 cage, and 7 ms in a dense grass place with Rethodon & C P droppings, 5 ms along the stream, 10 across dry burkgrass meadow, and then about 40 more assorted steel, cage, and ms up a canyon with grass and small stream. Very few loose-rock ridgy places. Only next 2 steel, 20 shermans, and ±30 ms night cool, clear, breezy, 2/3 moon.
No. 25 morning calm, no frost. Put my traps at dawn: 3 Orymycteron, 3 Phylletta, 1 cius, 3 abodon bolivianus ±. Anita caught 2 Phylettas, 4 abodon, 1 live Orymycterom. Later in the morning, I caught another Opy on the same place where we saw cius and Reithro droppings. The rest of my trap line during the day caught 6 abodon bolivianus, 1 Opy,
