Berberia, Servio, etc., Acute traps in Joffo (Cds de Piedi, Servio, Bulgres, and a few small Berberia clumps) caught 1 pantlo and 2 slipors (50 traps); in the rocks on the edge of the cliff he caught 3 more darwinis (40 traps). 3 pintb traps in a big clump of Berberia were not troubled, although a burrow and runways, + Rathodon droppings. Big black beetle lumbe- ing around in the sun at 10 A.M., air still cold. Saw one grusoso, 15 km S Vilecaniyeu near the summit of randul reales; no rheas. Heard tinamou and saw tracks of camels. No teros anywhere. Our trapping site of last May 5 km E of Bereto Mororo is now behind jesse, no go. Returned to Barilocho 1 P.M. Sunny, saw no Rheas; no turos droppings en route. Dick Sago trapping at Puerto Bleit for 2 nights (Nov. 3 and 4) caught 26 Alcedon longifilis and 1 Dryps, (and 2 Rhinoderma) in the swamps on the way to El Arundo). Nov. 9 Left 10:30 for Vilecaniyeu (MTA). 4 black-necked cranes on the lake of Bereto Mororo (as there were a few days ago), but out the grid traps 12:30 to 2:30 (3 traps short). Vegetation in the grid seemed short the same; Saponium blooming. Theridion saw 2 toads on the grid, and several lizards. Then drove to the Notomys locality 10 km W CaƱada and set for Notomys in two burrows. Acute and small shrews hunted with pate and mixed with rolled oats. I set unsorted pantb traps and
