Magra [illegible] some 20 km east of Maguara, between the coffee trees and the river. Three western fishermen barged through camp 3 times during the night, heard horneros and saw nests at the campsite, Mar. 20. Left early, drove to Chelforo, then north to Santabrosa. The amount of farrea increased yesterday, towards Maguara, and was extremely abundant; and in bloom, most of way up through the southern third of Jolampa Province (but mixed with 6 or 8 other species of bushes). As you go north, a few small Prosopis for begin to appear and by the time you get to General Ochoa, noble forests of big Prosopis. At the same time more grasses appearing and dry General Ochoa stage have started moving the roadsides. By Santabrosa there are lush pastures, wheat fields etc, but frequently a few Prosopis left in the fields or rather tinamous + scissor- tailed flycatchers. Just after we turned north at Chelforo we saw a group of ± 5 Doblitos, at least 3 of them young over half grown. At Sagr Sa Amoraga, picked up a Dor Zapostomas. Along the same stretch saw 2 families of rheas (young don't haventam size), and a guinea pig. Vezochos for sale at Ruedebor, Stopped at Parque Euro, 35 km. S of Santa Rosa, a game preserve itself into a not- bad little museum, according to their exhibit the three hereabouts are calden (Prosopis calden),
