Dec. 6 clear, windy, cool. Went to the Parque celebration
in the morning, met Erizo. Ernesto Gershwin was
there. In afternoon drove with Arto, Hilda
Bendoll and dog Sauro to the Alicia Reservoir,
which has been filling for a week or more. On
the flat upstream from the dam the lake is
already a mile or so across with occasional
dumbbary poplars or willows sticking out of
the water. Spent about two hours looking
for animals along the edge of the water (which
advanced noticeably as we watched it). The
habitat more river, with weeds, the
big species bush, duqueillos, arina negra,
other thorn bushes. Caught one peli arrachillo
that was ambuling down a path, and saw lots
of lizards, but no mice, marsupials, armores,
lizards, frogs, or snakes. Many swallows
flying, some gulls, only a couple of chimangoes.
Was surprised and disappointed at the absence of mice.
Thought we would see stranded marfs, wandering
displaced individuals, etc. Home 8:30 p.m.
Nov. 8 Day clear, breezy, cool. Drove to Refugio Meneguer
at 10:30. On the trail from the Refugio to Murodor,

pygmy owls. 5 more-or-complete pellets contained:
(1) long bones of mouse; (2) 1 Ambecomp; (3) 1 Aebicomps;
(4) long bones of mouse; (5) Abdon longphlio. The
