Pearson 1983 Villa Giardino, Cordoba, Argentina. April 18-22 attended annual meeting of the asocicacion argentina de Ecologia. about 200 students plus 100 professionals such as agronomos, CONICET Fellows, INTA researchers, and a handful of university/profed, no National Park people (except Pablo Canevari on the last day). An interesting Masterclass by Cara Movia and E. Lopez Cebera from the Sab. Fotointerpretacion, Fac. de Agronomia, Univ Nac. B.A., Av. San Martin 4453, 1417 BA. Using Landsat photos and ground surveys they have produced maps of vegetation types of Neuquen. In the mountains they use 3 major Distritos of the Provincia Sufantastica: (1) Distrito de Belunen [Aroucairo, Nunez, Jorja] (2) Distrito del Bosque Caducifolio [Jorja, Nunez, Cochler, and others such as Cipres, Roble Bellin, Rauli]. (3) Distrito Vedivianero. Dist. de Belunen extends well in a long thin strip to about 36° 35' with patches of Roble Bellin in it. It goes south to about 39° 30' a bit north of the valley coming from Lago Tromen, plus a connected piece that hangs down the ridge between the Rio Clenino and the Rio Catan - Sal; threating patches may exist at the northern end of the range, to about the level of San Colorado. patches of oblique north to Lago Epuloafquen (37°) which is a little north of Chos Malal. (2) The Bosque Caducifolio begins north of the Tromen river and continues south of Nahuel Hupi. The further south at the two old shiver of Nellofoque is on the oblique nevosa.
