My traps were partly in three open large forest but mostly along the edge of marshy pond. Some thick grass, frequently bordered by three-light tuber or dwarf longa, about 25 Shemour and 20 Mussem speckle, lots of huge clos-close up in the longa and on the ground. Anta put 40+37 traps, all in open deeps, many near the stream. Dick Sage put 23 Mussem specks in large closed longad and above & swampford, swampord is about 500 ft elevation close to refuge, numerous earth cores made by [illegible] under the snow. Dick says tree-trees on Eldridge, his Snow looks near my traps and Dick's last now at the Refugio building. Nov. 7 Half moon. Night partly overcast, not freezing, 7 traps 2 around the Refugio building caught 2 abv. longi, my line at the marshy pond caught one juno [illegible] and one also longi, Dick's 23 traps in longa acobarrada caught 2 also longa (one up in a longa) and 2 M muscorups. The short is instead of dwarf longa in open rocks. streams have areas, a little grass, a little moss, a few mats of azorella, snow- lambe. Under the rocks were jessourin + [illegible] + toads. Some gopher digging up there. Set 2 woodcoas in large tunnels. [illegible] an hour later one strong snift; no song. This area is
