AKP March 16, 1973 cont'd 10 AM - took Craig out N hole again; into another hole 10:01 - moves and rocks, under twig in sun Backs into new twig-lined hole. In sun 10:15 still there - no motion 10:20 cloud beetle wakes up. Took bumps a little but no 10:37 beetle takes off, eats flat leaves cloudy hot sun 11:00 no motion cloud 11:63 moves around rock, looks in W entrance, starts any from hole, back to hole again. Then climbs to 2" rock, hides underneath. 11:24 some sprinkle 11:35 AM - Craig #1 = bed & hole 11:47 Took went back under small rock. He must have been sitting just outside for up to several minutes 12:13 PM Beginning to rain Took twigs under large rock -> 12:17 Rain frog jumped straight from small rock to W. entrance of big rock shelter 12:18 Ta = 8°C 12:27 still raining, he staying under rock. Temp under small rock (still dry) = 14.0°C, Top behind big rock around 13-13.3°C depending on placement of thermometer. 12:32 Wet bulb therm = 44°F. Σ: med took comes out about 9:50, bathes in sun ~ [illegible], under rocks ~ 1 1/4 hr., goes under big rock when rain starts + temp drops to 8°.
