dry grass, saw net - 2 coqotrofs along the rocky fence, and 2 gafftrofs; The two song is into large 6 rheas in the mallin, which is hardly doing in a few places. Full cover, tree fastens sunny, not windy. On the drive from Bardelo saw 4 flamingos in Jago derito morado, and a dead horned owl along the road at derito morado. No chimangas at either the INTA station or Cañadón Buitos, april 8 Cañadón Buitos. Night calm clear. Heard one "cayto" call, only not quite so shrill & wipping. Maybe jays. See on side windshield etc. Saw the trofs in the Mallin at 7:00. One also large at a net dead-grass set and another in a "nothing" set in dense grass and weeds. One taca in the 2 trofs set. Saw the grid of INTA at 9:30. Only two Elqueadules: #862 & 20g at C4 and #803 breeding? 17g at E6. Just as much net work as yesterday, no marac trochs, a few dreffing, mere of them Panthodon. The other trofs not troubled, nor fants (affle in coqetrofs, reedroot in sheerness). Got trochs in mud, plusterson. Saw a flock of tenarous at edge of grid, changing mostly in flocks but some settling up on top & bushes on grid. Heard a few snatches of song. Thirteen rheas feeding in mallin, all at South half to maybe 3/4 sqr greeners; a Buteo-size hawk sitting on rocks above the meadow; white rally, dark heels. at 11:30 a.m. the trofs in the mallin fed 4 more also large and 1 audisoupt (in one of the good dead-grass sets).
