There is a grassy flat with fairly good Cortadera dumps at the east end of the lake only a km north of Manuel Herreri (Estancia Pres), west of the historic marker monument. In the afternoon set traps with Felipe Valverde in the flats 6km SW Barbeles and in long forest on the south slope of Cerro Ottes, 7km WSW Barbalo. 66 Hornimus and Misen Species alternating, both in each habitat. The flats is fine scrub with neves, [illegible], Barbacis, mat plant, rodol, tucos- leces Dec. 14 In the fine scrub we caught 2 anlesomys and 2 aho longi. In thalarga, only acho longi (5) in spite of lots of fallen logs, armuresay, hamber. No arpyomsy. Returns to his house where I put up an acrisomys for the Venerable Colton and he put ups an ahesom. no tucos. Dec. 15 Drove up to Cerro Calced shi area. All the shi area is a huge slope of dwarf fire only 4-15 ft tall with clumps of bamles sticking out above it. Drove down on the new road to Lago Gutierrez. Bambo almost all the way down to the lake on this east-facing slope, whereas I have never seen any along the road on the east shore of the lake. Hunted for lizards on the flats. Very few. Sedich Green still flowering flagrantly, + rosa mosqueta and retamo Dec. 29 Orvda. Finished identifying bones in pellets from Estancia Tehuel Medal, 6km NW Manuel Herreri. These pellets were rather small, many contained entire tails,
