Pearson 1980 69 heraobrit, some never but not as much as farther south. The whole place much more desertly than the slope near Bardecho. Summary of Joaquin Blanco trapping: Nov 29/30 88 traps in broken lava desert near the hostera, Nov 30-Dec 1 10 traps in broken lava desert near Hostera, 15 in broken lava + fuelgrass near the hill at the base of the peninsula, and 80 across the lake in Cortodera clumps in green spots and along rimrock above same, total 193 trap nights. Total catch was 1 Ctenomyx sp., 9 also pantito, 1 also longi, 6 Elyurus, 7 Phyllotis darwinii, and 3 Neotoma. In addition, we saw vizcacha, small brown chunke, hare, 2 "large" armadillos, 1 fat. At 4 PM drove southwest over the pass to Esfinoya del Zorro, good araucaria standing on "bare" slopes all by them-selves on the Sierra de Catam Jol. Camped along the Catam Jol river (somewhat muddy) 5km north of Las Coloradas. There or some met, grazed mescos, scattered never, Schinus? clumps, cortodera clumps, mulburs along the river, some rather lush dandelion/grass/sweet clover in places, a few clumps of cactus. I put 25 traps all effect 2 in Cortodera, and a put 43 in more desertly places, and Michael Christie 10 in various places. Shortly after we arrived we saw two giesona (figures), close one down a burrow in a Schinus? bush. Evening breezy, partly cloudy but clear and calm before morning, light dew; The place is 5km N Las Coloradas.
