Woldy is in leaf except for the highest, which is still in snow. Calf quail singing. At 2 PM walked up the canyon. It soon becomes quite forested (cypress and coileus with occasional larga). Set about 40 museum specials in mossy places such as along logs, rocky ledges etc. Then set about 15 in meice - 14 coleta etc. Anita set in the scrubby stuff near camp and before dark had caught 1 pale abo longi, 1 auliccomps, 1 noto woldin (at a coleta bush), 2 mid-size naticas, and 1 stunk. Nov. 8 Night calm, clear, cold; thick ice on bushes, heavy frost. My traps in scrubby desert caught 5 auliccomps and 2 abo longi; my traps up the canyon in the forest caught 13 Oryz including one with no brown/pigment, 1 shernomp, 1 auliccomps, and 5 abo longi. Anita caught 7 Oryz, 2 auliccomps, 10 abo longi, and 1 abo pantha. Presetter's live traps: 4 Oryz and 3 abo longi (all released) Anita had 53 traps out including 8 jumps and 15 shernoms. Clear sent sunny all day. Processed 62 mice and a stunk, released 7 others, discarded 2 others. Nov. 9 Clouded over during the night. My 14 traps in the bushy desert caught 4 abo longi and 1 Oryzcomp; my traps in the forest caught 1 noto woldin, 1 auliccomps, 3 Oryz, and 3 abo longi. The forest looks like it was logged for cypress maybe 50 yrs ago, many of the big coileuses are "open" types with low, sprawling limbs. Not much ground cover, such as caabo de cabra. Anita caught 1 auliccomps, 1 green lizard, 1 abo pantha,
