Pearson 1979 35 aulestronys microphora nov. 18 In Veracruza. On the grid caught a 94-g F that looked fat, preg? another F caught near camp had an open vagina. In a cage it ate dandelion, in preference to carrot, cactus, and large grub. ate Clifffs vines and strawberry but may not have eaten them. aceras califolia nov. 19 Captive did not eat Cadillo or strawberry, but did eat, Cachis de Osmorhiza lentus, Calira, Osmothera, inia, and lily leaves and stem. Did not eat piloree. nov. 20 In Veracruza Described juveniles 22 g, S, teeth 4, SV 3, stomach green. F no 4 from the grid was wounded in traps. Pregnant (?) and lactating (#5860), skeleton an adult F on the grid was released on a climbing be 6" vine. It promptly ran up the trunk to about 10 ft, stopped to groom, then went even higher, even out onto smaller branches, then grounded some more for at least 5 minutes, then came down to the ground and ran off (on top of a small log). It seemed perfectly at ease up in the tree. While up there a Kingbird-sized fly catcher with pale grey breast approached quite close and seemed interested. Three we have seen shredded dandelion flowers similar to those handled by captive Aulestronyx, The captive eats Cacho de Calira leaves but not Cadillo leaves, maybe eats seeds of Cadillo? Captive ate at least one gustatory blob fungus growing on a branch, but did not eat a big morel fungus. nov. 24 Rio Lujun mangaro. Captive at flowers of Esfina Negra (Coletra?). At storm of caledonia (toga-toga) but avoided flower.
