into Bariloche. Nov. 6 Bariloche, celebration of National Park day. Met Diego Platt, an agronomist friend of Hilde Brunold, lives at km. 16 1/2, knows a lot about forest succession in this area. I believe he said that one forest of downy's cont. out toward Elao Elao grew back to mine. Karyotypes not working, no metaphases. Note no oryzomys at La Veranada grid or nearby. Sambucus pilifera in Bariloche now well-leafed out, Panaja Sinda Nov. 8 Left Bariloche at 10 a.m., arrived La Veranada 12 noon, spent 2 1/2 hrs stuck in a mud hole on the way back to our camp on the Rio CastaƱo Overo. Then set out the grid - large Sherman traps with rolled oats. Bird hasn't changed species there yet. of Berberis in bloom and quite a few meadow horse droppings along our trails. Seem like they feed on canelo. Marino Brunold and Sosa say that their captive pastures will not set canelo. I set 13 museum specks in forest between camp and the river crossing, and Anita set 30 museum specks near camp. Cordons still in the cliff (see Mines account) Weather cold, faint drizzles several times during afternoon. Nov. 9 morning cold, partly cloudy, mostly sunny from noon to 3 p.m. My line of 12 trap traps caught 5 cho longi and 1 also live overnight, then during the day caught another live and a notio voldiv. Anita's 30 mist traps caught 1 oryz, 2 live, 4 also longi, 1 notio macro, and 1 notio voldiv.
