Searker 1978 5km S Bandelo Found these were in big Sherman's. Released one in the crotch of a big cyprinus plant 3 ft above level of ground. Some dirt and grass were in the crotch. The mouse kept trying both exits, and screaming; only after about 3 minutes did it escape from the back exit and dash across the grass to some bushes. Another individual tried the exits, screamed, and was still cuddled there 15 minutes later. Gone 20 minutes later. Nothing in traps at 4pm. Afternoon mostly sunny and quite windy. Wind lessened at dark. an owl pellet picked up along the trap line contained 1 Aulisomys and 1 Elymyscatus, Oct. 29 Occasional wind at night, no rain. Ground frozen in A.M. but no frost. Morning clear. my trapline held 1 also longi, 1 Cryz longi, and 2 aulisomys. These were at base of cliff with a tenuous of low lushy-herby plants. Five large Sherman's set yesterday afternoon in a moist gully above camps with [illegible] a dense ground cover of low lushy-herby plants caught: Akodon longifili: discarded: f 24g vagina not open large follicle or CL f 28g vagina not open ovaries w/ C.L. f 25g (partly eaten) vagina large, uterus 1.5m, no scars vagina open large C.L. m 32g testi 11m; SV. 14 Oryzomys discarded: f 17.5g vagina not open uterus thread-like no med. follicle or CL. m 28g testi 7m; SV. 10
