Leon 1975 and moths were abundant, plus two or more of the big crags - from works. These walked over the flowering branches, but seemed more interested in me than in anything else. Certainly were not hunting insects. Walked for several hours looking for moths dropping telen, or for geckos, but found none. Cloudy up until noon, then clear sun until about 3, then partly cloudy. Saw 1 set of mouse tracks, 1/2r. of muscoaphide, numerous pot and Burdinus tracks. about 8 p.m. (moon almost full, partly cloudy) jack - lighted for about 1/2 hr but saw only 1 small scorpion (up on the roof). Nov. 16 Morning cloudy. No dew. Hiked out to between San Bartolo and Punta Negra where I flagged a mero fire. Saw no lizards, one sharrow barba. Tacna with Tony Juscoube Nov. 21 Left Tacna about noon and drove to Tarata. Stopped to see Sofia, gasoline, then off to the Acagua camp where I put out 22 large Sherman baited with rolled potatoes. Some Canita blooming and some Drudella, but everything pretty dry. Moon slightly past full. 3,2 km N E Tarata, 3,500 m. Nov. 22 Wight / partly cloudy, water buckets with 1/2 inch ice. Thermometer at daybreak 32° F. Traps held 3 Phyllotus Darwini and 1 Pth. moqister, a good informant yesterday (hitch-hiking army) pointed out bot caves near Tarata.
