July 9
With Phil Rogers left out the Calhoun fires at about 4 p.m. Dated with peanut butter. Weather was drizzly and considerable rain had already fallen. Almost no mouse sign. Saw bobcat at bottom of meadow on School Hill. Chame in bloom.
July 10
Drizzle in early part of evening, but clear after midnight. Moon slightly past full. Ran traps at 7 a.m., grass + chaparral soaking wet. Saw bobcat in the steep-line meadow. See summary for catch. Proved to mission San Antonio in flood in middle of day, returned at 4:30 p.m. Day sunny and cool.

Night clear + cold (<40°). Heavy dew. Ran traps at 7 a.m. crossed then visited Jimmy Bell's ranch. Returned traps in P.M.
