the 'Bienendas' and 'Tierras' letters on the hillsides close to town, Vegetation quite sparse, ground with scattered stones too small for mouse shelters, but the letters are made of piles of large stone or slate and look like effective shelter for mice. Feb 6 at dawn had 4 phyllotis at the letters, 2 of them in the only 2 large Sherman's that set. Feb 7 Started for home with 2 lictores from Tree Creek, 1 orodromys, 2 octodontomys, 4 phyllotis from 'Tierras' wall (caperini) and 4 from the letters on the hill (domini?) Feb 14 put 15 Sherman's and 105 museum specimins in 3 places on the autopista short of the airport (one of the blocks same as before, part of which had been buried). (7 p.m.) Feb 15 at 7 a.m. traps held 43 skodromys and 5 oryzomys, only 5 of the skodromys from the old place. Valera del mar Feb 23 arrived after dark at Boldrin's study area with Boldrin, Busely & Pionterda. Surprised and much colder than below.
