Dec. 19 To Valeria del mar with Gollopins, Bush, Prontanica, and family, 8:30-3:15. Rain or way. Set 50 museum specials at 6 p.m east of study area, all in desert habitat, corn meal bait. Windy & cool, I might part full moon. Dec. 20 Nothing in traps. Day coolish, scattered clouds, fairly windy. Counted two diggings 8 a.m. Apparently not much activity. Trouble placing them on Martha's map, so, after laying out a 120x120m. grid with stakes, Martha and I re-drew the SE part of the map. At 4:30 put 45 Sherman on the grid (except G 7,6,5,4. Quite a bit of two singing about 6:30 p.m. quite put about 25 museum specials. Night partly clearly. Caught a young (75 g) [illegible] in a big Sherman. Dec. 21 windy clear, dew. Ron traps at 5:15- nothing in mine or anters. Caught young two in a big Sherman baited with oatmeal + found a two bursom with trails 64 inches out into sand. Checked traps on area with Martha at 7:30 a.m. The hole where the baby two came from remained open all day, but was closed later in the afternoon. Set another traps there. Caught another baby two about the same size in a big Sherman about 50 yds away. This one has a dark "worm"rump like some of the adults. yesterday, heard a two calling, set a trap at the hole, and within 2 hrs. had caught a ? (150 g.) Reset the grid traps at 5 p.m. (except G 1,2 ).
