P. PEARSON 1951 April 23 Trops held 4 Peromyscus (trivis and boylii?). Night clear, temp down to -2°C. Moon slightly past full. Drove to Globe and back after lunch. Saw 2 Cattleman (collected one) between Lawnmill and the main road to the north. Then stopped at McMillan Mine, 4500 ft.; 14 mi. NNE Globe to look for bats. Looked in one mile long tunnel that was probably between 50-55°F. Found two torpid Cattleman and 9 torpid Corynorhinus. Between the corrugated iron over single roof of one of 3 adobe buildings were 50° lively Antrozous. Collected some of them also. More of Cory fat. Jacklighting after supper to Reservoir below Lawnmill. No amphibs. Several small bats flying over the reservoir. Saw Jackrabbit. April 24 Night overcast in early part and much warmer. Trops (same line as yesterday) held 2 Peromyscus. Shot no bats. Went to Goodloe Springs at 5:30 and set 60 museum specials in the good desert near there (stone + sandwith oputa, juniper, various cacti shrubs etc.). Many bats flying at early dusk. Shot 2 (Lyptadelle) Jacklighted but saw nothing, although heard self owl and great horned. April 25 2 Trops and 14 Peromyscus of 2 or 3 species. Bats flying at daybreak. Then home to Lawnmill. Bat shooting at dusk over the Lawnmill reservoir. Many bats flying - 2 or 3 species. Of 3 shot (2 by Johnston) all were Tadarida. Jacklighted home and around camp but saw no mammals
