PEARSON 1950 31 march 5 Total catch 19 Mierstna, 1 Musa, 3 Berongzera, 8 Sorey, 22 Reuthro Jarkapun, Marin Co., Calif. march 11 Left 2:30 p.m. for Marin & to meet Anita and Truf Muerste (anito returning from bat trip to Limerence with Mary, Todd, et al. Judi's born being torn down). Set about 80 traps in the original San Quentin marsh (Therman + Beronga baited with oatmeal) and about 60 in 2 marshes near the new Catholic School near Jarkapun. All in or at edge of Salicornia. Might clear and cold. march 12 Heavy frost. Total catch 1 Sorey (Rudd caught 14 between 3 and 9 p.m. last night NE of Vallejo), 12 Muerstna, 3+ Musa, 1 Berongzera, 8+ Reuthro. Berkeley, Calif. march 16 at lunch time went to Tilden Park to look for Triturus where Anita et al. had seen them yesterday. Just north of playing fields + tennis courts found about 3 dozen in 25 yards of stream; all in pools about 8 to 16 inches deep. Only 2 females. Also a few young ones in the stream, about 80+ mm. long. 2 frogs. Many Triturus egg masses on roots. S of Petaluma, Marin Co. march 19 Left 2:30 p.m. with Brenta. Showers. Set ca. 160 Benson, Therman, and tin-can traps baited with oatmeal. Finished setting at dark. Many good Pheretima runways. At 9:30 p.m., however, only 2 Reuthro, 2 Sorey. No Mierostus. Evening calm, overcast, not cold. march 20 Rain for the last half? of night and still drizzling
