P. PEARSON 1950 30 \n3 1/2 mi NE San Rafael Marin Co. Feb. 25 Left 3 p.m. with Mosman and Mumble for Marin Co., put 135 Benson & Sherman traps baited with natural around same Salicornia marsh as last week. few of good sign x 1 Bufo, 2 Batrachophis, and 10? Sceloporus under boards + logs within a few yards of Salicornia. Finished setting about 5:30 p.m. Pan traps at 9 pm and picked up 3 Microsternus, 2 Rethro, and 1 Pero. Looked in old house for bats but too delapidated; none there. Might clear, calm, not cold, fog rising from marsh at 9 p.m. Lots of frogs singing. Feb. 26 Picked up at 6:30 a.m.. Had 5 Sorex, 11 Rethro, 3 Pero, and 5? Microsternus. Here total for night = 13 Rethro, 7 Microsternus, 4 Pero, and 5 Sorex. March 4 Left 3 p.m. with Green and Isaac for Marin Co.: looked at several of the Salicornia marshes near our last week's station but none seemed to have as many sign on the original site. Put traps at 1 new place and then re-covered 3 places where we had trapped before. Saw practically no really fresh droppings or cuttings. While setting saw 2 Toads, 1 Bufo, 2 Sceloporus, 11 spring-tailed snake, and a pair of Rites. Heard great horned owl and many frogs at dusk. Salicornia twigs very dry with practically no fleshy parts.
