One old male had no fat at all. How would he survive the winter ? Temperature in my tunnel (with most bats) varied during the night between 44 and 47°F. The temperature outside was as low as 26°. But coldest was the Merry-Todd tunnel which also had lots of bats. Both these tunnels were cold + drafty. Shorter & blind tunnels were warmer and had few bats. The one at Knopfville where I left a half dozen females on my last visit and
