D. P. PEARSON 1949 nice soon after dark. One hour after dark had 6 Mus and 1 Rattus (half-grown). Night clear + very calm. Heavy dew. Saw no Solcurns marsh. Many Ducks, Island seems to consist of a diked road around the edge of the island and cultivated fields are the edge in the center. Mon. 25 The 50 Skernans in marshy grass- weed cought 4 South crinepnes, 5 Mus, 2 Rattus, 1 Micrortus, antea 30 here had 4 Mus and 2 Rattus. Along the tules I had set alternate snags (34) and Skernans (25). Score max: snags - 11 Mus and 1 Rattus; Skernans - 3 Mus. Antea had 2 more Mus. Dec. 19 Manhattan Mines, Napa Co. Calif. Left 2 p.m. with Antea, arrived Manhattan Mines about 4:30. Went first to the tunnel to clear it. Antea, Todd + Mary had water before. Take left fork at Knopville, drive up hill to top where road forks left and large mine dump visible in to right of road. So then gate and take sharp left on dirt road. Watch for tunnel to right of road under dryer pipes (no label), then Knopville
