D. P. PEARSON 1949 20 Boiler Ranch, [Shasta Co] Oct. 22, 1949 1848 ♂ Corynorhinus rafinesquai caught by Anita + Mary Oct. 20, awake in shallow cave. Epidid not conspicuous in tail membrane. No fat, accessory small, 3.5 mm across. Testis 5 mm., epidid 3 x 1. A few sperm in epidid smear. See sections: level sections of epidid. But no sperm in them. Scrotal tubule quiet, a few int effects seen but no mitoses, no sperm. many interstitial fibs but not large. 430 ft. Ice Cave, Shasta Co., Calif. Oct 22 1849 ♂ Corynorhinus rafinesquai caught by Anita + Mary Oct. 19. No others present. * was not seen on earlier visit Oct. 19 so may have just arrived. Epidid conspic. in tail membrane. Banded #2-162374. Much fat. Testis accessory large, 8½ mm across. Testis 4 x 3, somewhat fleabby and slightly purplish epidid 3 x 6. Many sperm in epidid smear. In sections: tubules small, no sperm, only int effects seen; little interstitial tissue; 430 ft. Ice Cave, Shasta Co., Calif. 1850 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquai Oct. 19. Killed Oct. 22. caught by Anita + Mary, 1 other ♀ present. Nipple tiny 0.2 mm; sperm in vaginal smear. Much fat. Rt. horn larger than left, 1.5 mm., artery not white-sheathed. Torpid Angwin, Yuba Co., Calif. 1851 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquai /3.2 gr. catfght Nov. 3rd in old winery. Torpid. Caught by Anita + Mary. No other bats in same building. Nipple medium - 1.2 mm long. Sperm in vaginal smear. Uterine artery thick-walled. Right horn 1.8 mm. Much fat (2.7 g) 1852 ♂ Corynorhinus rafinesquai (captured by) 8.7 g. cought in [illegible] over belly at Angwin. Awake. Epidid. conspicuous in tail membrane. Accessory 7 mm; testis 4.5 mm.; epidid 6 mm. Many sperm in epidid smear. Nov. 3rd. In sections: tubules, lining; no mitoses, no sperm. considerable interstitial tissue. Auto different from 1854. /100 ft. Cetna Mines, Yuba Co., Calif. 1853 ♂ Corynorhinus rafinesquai .8.2 capt Nov 3rd, Cetna Mns. C.161791 bled. In tunnel with 2 other males (unbled). All awake at [illegible] 10:4 U. Epididymis visible in tail membrane but not conspicuous. Considerable fat. Accessory small, 4 mm across. Testis 4.5 mm. Epidid 4.5 mm long. A few sperm in epidid smear. In sections: sperm in some tubules, 1 mitosis seen, some interstitial tissue.
