O. P. PEARSON 1949 12 Marconi, E side R.C.A. Hotel, Tomales Bay, Marin Co., Calif. #7 Sept. 11, 1949. 1793 male Corynothines rafinesquei no skin 8.3 g. In treatment of R.C.A dormitory above snake. Spirid. marled in tail membrane but not as prominent as 1792. Testes not marled externally as in 1792. Int. lateral projections making partial separation of same into an anterior portion in slat. Techa 4 mm, spirid about 1 x 4 mm. Accessory tiny; 2 1/2 mm across, sem. res. 1 mm long. No fat. Shell pared. For sections: my sperm, ov Germenosis. Much pink interstitial tissue of large cells. One immature R2 - #4. Good stain. Emerson, Marin Co., Calif. 1794 female Corynothines rafinesquei (Calatio 7-7-9) caught 5 p.m. Sept. 10. Killed 8 p.m. Sept. 11. Banded 49-123086. Myxle tiny. Uteri small, it + left lome same diameter but it slightly larger. Both ovaries with numerous small follicles under dissect. scope. No fat. Shell + pelvis + V.G. stained. Vaginal smear: nucleated epithelial cells, some in sheets, no leucocytes or sperm. Banded as young June 11/1949 1795 female Corynothines rafinesquei 9.1 g (Calatio 1 day) caught + killed as above. Banded 49-123096, Myxle tiny (0.5 mm). Vaginal smear with abundant nucleated epithelial cells, no sperm or cornified. Uterus small, 1 mm, both horns same size. Ovaries peach, numerous small + small-med. Follicles. No fats. Myxle with hairs. Projecting from it. Laced shell pelvis, V.G., vaginal smear. In stained smear: slate of nucleated epithelial cells, some detritus or leucocytes, no sperm. Fresh 9.4 g. 1796 female Corynothines rafinesquei (Calatio 1 day) caught + killed as above (1794). Banded 46-26769. Myxle small, 1.2 mm long, with a few hairs. Vaginal smear cornified, no sperm. Uterus small and flat, rt. horn 2 mm, slightly shorter ant.-post. than left horn and if anything shorter. B.V. conspicuous. white-sheathed. Ovaries peach, numerous small follicles under dissect scope. No fat, laced shell pelvis, V.G., vaginal smear not noted. Stained smear: small nucleated epithelial cells, some in sheets. no cornified, no leucocytes, no sperm. Banded July 1947 as immature, with young one 1945. 1797 female Corynothines rafinesquei 8.8 g (Calatio 1 day) caught + killed as 1794. 1796-1797 all part of feeding colony in Lend's barn only 2 present and few young mms. Rest adult ff. Banded 46-26744, myxle med.-large 2mm. Vaginal smear cornified + nucleated, but no sperm. Uterus smallish & flat, rt. horn the best than left 2 mm ant-post. B.V conspicuous. white-sheathed. Ovaries white and flat, numerous small + small-med. Follicles. Laced shell pelvis, V.G. + vaginal smear. In stained smear: many nucleated epithelial cells, some curved + irregular but all with nuclei; no leucocytes or sperm. Banded 1947 as lactating female.
