Aug. 26 In our Maple glade on Raccoon Creek (4 mi. N. Wilson Creek) these started flying at 6:40 under the trees and also M. californica. Copnell shot at 1 which promptly landed on a tree trunk, then flew off. A few minutes later he shot at another with a 16 ga. half-load. This one too landed on a tree trunk where he shot it.
