P. PEARSON 1947 6 July 27 My 50 live traps in the sand caught only 3 Pimiceus + The 100 snap traps in the dunes caught 2 Microdipodops, 1 Eutamias, 15 Pimiceus, 4 Dipos ordii and 4 Dipos leuco, July 28 Fletcher. Put up late in the morning, then left for Haulthorn. Stopped just over the divide to look for crows on the S.E. slope of Cory Mtn. Found drop-slings, hay piles, and heard crows calling but didn't see any. Then went through Haulthorn and drove up Corey Canyon to some mice on the S.E. face of Big Indian Mtn near its top. Saw crows there and missed some with the shotgun in the late afternoon. Saw small dragging in the dry rocky-sandy road shoulder a little above the reservoir in Corey Canyon. Slept in upper Cat Creek at about 9200 ft. July 29 Fletcher. Hunted crows early in the morning. We shot 11 between us and saw a few more, then drove down Corey canyon to the Reservoir to skin them. Looked for moles in open gorges on the way down and for more crows in a good big web slide at about 8400 ft., but saw neither crows nor moles. Did see moles in sand + (tunnels) sagebrush near Fletcher lava flows. Supper of steak and watermelon with whisky jock at Fletcher (Davis) and stayed with him overnight. Four more bats in the old house were collected before bed.
