P. set out the following traps at Fletcher:
1) 100 Museum Specials in Pebbly-gravel desert (walnut)
2) 50 Benson line traps " " " " (cedar)
3) 36 Museum specials in Sandy desert (these
were new, stiff traps). Bat shooting in evening.
July 26 catch at 5 AM as follows:
(Saturday)
1) P. musa 20, Microdiplopes 12, Dipodomyx 1,
Perognathus 1, Eutamias 1. = 35
2) 4 P. musae, 1 Microdiplopes = 5
3) 2 P. musae, 4 Dipodomys ordii, 2 D. levicorga
1 Eutamias. = 9
Benson got as follows:
(106 Museum Specials)
1) P. musae 17, Onychomys 1, Microdyphr 10 = 28
2) (100 line traps) 22 P. musae, 6 microdiplopes = 28
3) (40 dunes) 3 P. musae, 4 Dipso leuco, 4 Microchp = 11
Spent the day shinning. Moved all the traps
and now have 100 Mus. Spec. in the sandy desert
(dunes) and 35 line traps in some vigor, 5 PM.
Bat shooting before darks, and quite successful
setting in the house after 9 PM.
