Little Mueistina droppings inside. Probably escaped because
doors were cut too short and allow frame or teeth to get between
celing and tops of doors and pull back. All Mueistina were large ..
march 6 left 3 p.m. with Keedle for San Aventin etc. set
48 Benson bino - trike and about 90 Shermane, 50 of latter with
reamped doors to prevent escapees. Oatmeal bait. Set about
half in same San Aventin marsh as before, 10 in salt-hay
marsh at Corte Modera, and set on greasy knoll west
of st. 101 s of R:B between San Aventin & Corte Modera.
Ran trike at 9 p.m. (7 Mueistina) and all set on knoll near
Corte Modera. at 6:30 had 10 more Mueistina and
something like 14 Berthre, and 1 Mus. Taller on greasy
knoll. Two Mueistina on greasy knoll and all other
at San Aventin. Berthros both of these places, all Magelata.
march 11 left 7 a.m. with Mary Kipford and Wde Fos hunting
coryvorthine. all-day rain. Drove to place as follows
looking for Cory: Barn near Calistoga, old winery at Angwin,
Los Posadas (near Angwin), Actra Springs, 5 mi W and 1 mi
N of Lower Lake, abandoned house between Lower Lake and
Calistoga. Found 2 q Coryvorthine burfed in attic over
kitchen of hotel at Actra Springs. Attic temp. 50?
also 1 q Cory under old farm home west of Lower Lake.
The latter only about 1 1/2 feet above ground. It was an
musestina one [non-parma]. How did it know that this
spot storked was one of Mary's collecting localities?
temp. under house 44o. about 2-3 inches of snow near
here. Stuck in mud and here for about 1hr. Home 7 p.m.
