Feb. 29 Put 49 Sherman batted with oatmeal at 2 p.m. in Tilden Park on slope across from Brazilein Room. Left for Mistura, same place as Jan. 2. Not as many good runways as before. Great numbers of small depressions scooped out (by skunks?). Saw jockrabbit.
Jan 30 at 8 a.m. traps held 1 Microtus, 5 Peromyscus maniculatus (2 of them dead). Compare with catch Jan. 3 with 20 mice including 6 Reithro. Night clear, cool. Saw 1 jockrabbit and a skunk, apparently feeding, in sunshine at 9 a.m.
