PEARSON 1948 49 Cave 1.6 miles north of Subway Caves, Nov. 7 Shasta Co., Calif. 1365 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquii 104 x 51 x 11 x 37 Captured in afternoon, torpid. Probably the only bat in the cave at this time. Nipple medium, no fluid. Vaginal opening small, not gooey. Much fat. Uteri not vascular. Arteries conspicuously white-sheathed. Right ovary with large follicle [illegible] does not project. Small blood vessels across its surface. Left ovary with small follicles. Suburg Cave, 4300 ft., Shasta County Calif. Nov. 8 1366 ♀ Eptesicus fuscus bernardinus 120 x 50 x 12 x 15 Caught Nov. 6, died Nov. 8. no skin, no skull 1367 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquii 109 x 50 x 11 x 37 Caught at night in contact with 2 other ♀♀ below. Nipple medium, no fluid. Vagina not gooey. Much fat. Uterus smallish, not vascular. Ovary with thin white sheathing. 1 large follicle in right ovary, more in left. no skin, no skull 1368 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquii 109 x 49 x 11 x 38 Caught as 1367. Nipple medium large, tiny drop of fluid. Vagina not gooey. Much fat. Uteri not vascular, not enlarged. Large follicle in each ovary. Nose lining saved. 53-K1 - polar body and 2nd spindle in atretic follicle. Interstitial cells not distinct. Only one large follicle seen. Many sperm in uterus and oviduct. Eccentric germinal vesicle, no P.B. Mitosis in uteri extremely abundant. Vagina thick stratified, not cornified. Ciliated cervix? 1369 ♀ Corynorhinus rafinesquii 107 x 50 x 11 x 36 Caught as 1367. Vagina not gooey. Nipple medium, no fluid. Much fat. Uteri not vascular, not enlarged. Artery with thin white sheath. Medium large follicle in left ovary. No large follicles in right.
