Humpback Salmon Solano 28 July Patnaeza River Cape Sabine, Alaska As we approached camp we saw several large fish and finally I shot one as it went over a shallower bar, it proving to be Humpback Salmon. Hunters proceeded up the river, some being in sight all the time, their jumps or current ripples being obvious. As I have never seen Salmon migrating, this was quite an exciting incident. I shot two and we had one for supper, to our regret as it was no damn good. Why this fish did not come in last year as a good question as in once we would have seen them, they are so obvious.
