5 July Pitnagera River, 16 miles SE Cape Sabine, Alaska
Fresh tracks were seen along the river
mystream from camp.
16 July One was seen shifty along the edge of
the larger lake in the Fall sedge. It
went thru water without hesitation
shaking it off without a pause. Would
not would stop and sit up & look
around.
22 July Pitnagera River, 7mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska
Tracks seen downstream
30 July Pitnagera River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
Tracks indicate passage of one during
our absence at five end of bar. We
set 2 old Eskimo dead fall traps for
these on mountain across the river.
2 August Saw one carrying river across from tent
at hill. Went down across a cost of linked
feet below where we killed bear and
where there was lots of meat cached but it
apparently didn't smell it.
3 Aug Late saw a Wolverine on Owl Ridge but it
got away and spooked 11 canines when they
wounded it.
