11 June Pitmeza River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
Forks were quiet this even after
the heavy rain this afternoon. It was
quite light and sunny when we ran
Traps which may have more to do with
their activity than the rains. An aerial
call was heard.
19 June Saw one on top of mountain across river. They
are now definitely less abundant than 2 weeks
ago.
22 June Heard a pair plus a 3rd which sounded like
a pup calling & creamother during the night
lastnight.
29 June A calling last night. One came to the ridge
behind tent and scolded us apparently.
27 June See caribou

Not seen or heard. Why?

9 heard one bark in the fog last night.

One or two heard calling out on Second Ridge
3 August Pete found a den with 4 openings towards Wolverine
Mt. 2 foxes now close by and he chased one, getting
within 30 ft of it. Set traps for it.
4 Aug Pete found a second set of dens along the
creek past 2nd Ridge and chased a
yellowish fox, different from the earlier one,
