Lemmus
June 3 Barrow, Alaska
went to beachridge with Mother in
p.m. Lemmus everywhere in bare areas.
Tundra muddled and dembed. They
are feeding on what could be dug out of
the permafrost. All surface vegeta-
tion gone except mosses which they seem
to ignore. Watched a seal calf. Caught
a black one.
