Childs 1958 Lemmus 4 28 May Wainwright, Alaska Crawford is not buying any more as he is leaving and it is obvious now that we would only get Fall killed stuff that has been stored in cellars. The vegetation appeared to be heavily utilized. There was little grass stems left and even the willows were eaten bare of leaves and bark was chewed to one extent. 31 May Pitneyea River, Cape Sabine, Alaska Mouse sign is considerably greater now than at any time last year. This coupled with the presence of predators, 2 species of Owl and anti Fox foretells a good year. 2 June There are two such areas that show very heavy utilization locally. This is particularly so in the peat area in bird plot 2. 11 June Finally got two, both in T6-10.0. This Trap site was under a small willow and a running man along the edge of a polygon cracks. 22 July Pitneyea River, 2mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska Got one in T12 in tusslebs!
