Lemmings
Aug 25 Point Barrow Alaska
Went out to the north dleame areas
after lunch today. Much melting
is going on and the snow cover
is broken up. Some runways
were found with a snow boltan
and pellets lying in the snow
about every 2 miles of tunnel.
Snow was completely gone. Did still
along to the types of vegetal
that was above the snow
level. Tuesday, I am not certain
in my mind what affect, if
any, This weather would have
on the lemming population.
At first I thought it would
severly affect the late crop of
young but I am not at all
certain that this is the case.
Only time a Chester specimen
will tell.
