We doubled Mahen's catch of this species
by catching one in an obviously active hole
in the Dryas tarens along the river's
edge. Large holes perhaps 2-3" in diam.
were seen frequently and I assumed to
be the activity of this species as they
did not do this. These holes were generally
grouped into a burrow system with
different, more lush vegetation than
the surrounding areas. Needless to say
they apparently are not abundant this year
