Childs 1955 Stercorarius longicaudus June 28 Point Barrow, Alaska One flying west over LW in p.m. June 29 One "" at point at 2100 July 5 Atkausk, Meade River, Alaska There were 10-15 present in the area this a.m. Saw fighty & chasing seen. One harassed the only Snowy Owl seen. No other jaegers seen today. One landed in a garbage area last night. July 6 First seen today. July 7 Drew found nest 5 of cool mine. Skates found one N of the village with one egg. Birds did not display very violently. July 10 Found one of the nests 5 of the Cool Min. 3 birds actively attacked me as me observed the nest. One landed on my back and pecked my hat. By slick my hand up I was able to catch it and Chuck took pictures of it. July 15 Wainwright, Alaska A group of 3 + 1 seen this afternoon. Not settled. July 19 None seen since the above except offshore Aug 5 Several seen in the last few days. Aug 14 The only jaeger seen on the tundra in several weeks.
