She set off twice when we approached & weight the young. There are 3 young and 2 eggs in the nest. Dates of hatching are known (see FAP notes). The P has not been seen. 33 ? gone. Difficult to see in nest from this position 39 ? fed, settled. 46 3 RP flew over, calling. & long-tail Jaeger flew west around 51 ? left. 56 ? fed, removed f.o. 1406 ? fed, settled. 14 ?s calling [old-squaw] 14 ? left. 19 ? fed, left 21 ? fed, removed f.o. 26 ? fed, settled. This ? has much more black in throat, face and crown than most. Flaps up and approaches the 37 plumage quite closely. 28 Gull flew over towards west. 30, another gull. 34 ? left. 45 ? fed, settled. It is quite cold and it appears that the ? does not have much food in her mouth on each of her visits plus the length of time she is out makes the theory plausible that there is a scarcity of food available today. 55 ? gone when nest checked. She can get off in a flash and it is difficult to see into the nest
