Childs 1959 Hirundo erythrogaster 21 Jun Patnega River, Cape Sabine, Alaska One of pair seen. Also seen first on 17 Jun 22 Jun Pair landed on tent guy ropes. Song and expanded throat pouch 25 Jun Found one nesting in cabin at mouth of river. Fair habitat selection 27 Jun Pair flew around tent 28 Jun " " 29 Jun One bird still at cabin. 1 July Nest was found at cabin in outer room. Much clubs along seam for several feet. Nest not completed. 4 July Bird still present but no additional enlargement of nest attempted. 12 July Patnega River, 7 mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska One seen hawking over the river. 15 July Collected one flying around our tent. Strange that they are so attracted by such structures. July Patnega River, Cape Sabine, Alaska Nest measured 4½ x 2½". Bill was adult after I shot the one bird Hirundo rustica (erythrogaster is a subspecies)
