Stercorarius pomarinus
June 26 Point Barrow, Alaska
Several seen yesterday including one apparently
feeding on insects on the ground. None seen
today in the same area.
June 30 Nest deserted; eggs broken + obviously eaten
that Mohn & McNabb banded bird yesterday.
July 1 Last two days have been outstanding in the
absence of jaegers all kinds, at least in the
air
July 19 Wainwright, Alaska
One flew away shore today
July 23 The absence of anything but an occasional
straggler after the first day here is an un-
explained mystery. With so many being
there should have been more.
