4 km ENE Pucusana left Lina
Flew to Lima on June 29, arriving 6:30 AM at the beautiful new Lima airport. OP + J + Ray stayed at the Davis home in the San Antonio district of Miraflores. The house looks [illegible] on a little square park on the front and on a boys' school soccer field on the back. Shared walls with another smallish house on one side, and an open lot with construction materials in it and a little indian hovel in the corner on the other.
We did a lot of shopping, much talking, and organized so that we could take off for the desert in the morning. After picking up Myrna + Carol at the airport this morning we drove south to a little development just north of Chica. Chica is a rather pretty strike indian town with an interesting construction of adobe as you go down the main street. There's a very picturesque church on an undeveloped town square, and a few modernish painted houses, but most buildings are mud-brick unpainted and decrepit. Papa Leon B - where our rented house is located is in a real estate development of maybe 300 sticky-tacky cement box houses. The houses are on enormous oblong lots, many of which have large
