Palmer 1936. January Jan 14, 1100 ft, 1158 Columbia Ave., Ontario, S.B.Co. This afternoon made 15 sets of Macabee gopher traps in fresh burrows in vacant lots in the 1200 block of Columbia Ave. Then drove east on 4th St. to end 7mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. There I set 40 gov.-size mousetraps on sand dune area covered with low brush - Artemisia Californica, Salsola Kali (dead), Rhus trilobata, some green Hordeum sp. and a few coyote gourds - Cucurbita foetidissima. This afternoon I had a visit from two fellows from Corona who have done some mounting of birds and animals but want to know the scientific method of skins. I loaned them some traps and they are going to try to get me some specimens from their region, Jan 15 In 15 sets for gophers in the 1200 block on Columbia Ave., caught 10 Thomomys bottae (5♂, 5♀). In 40 gov.-size mousetraps 7mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., S.B.Co., Calif.
