Palmer 1936 + 1937 Itinerary 100 ft, 1158 Columbia Ave., Ontario, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Dec. 23 At my home in Ontario made 4 sets of Macabee traps for gophers in the garden. Dec. 24 Found four Mononyp bottas in the 4 sets of Macabee gopher traps set in fresh burrows in the garden. 1937 Laguna Beach, Orange Co., Calif. Jan. 1 Left Ontario yesterday afternoon and drove via Chino, Santa Ana Canyon, Olive, Justin & Irvine to Laguna Beach. Today drove south on the coast highway via Dana Point to Doheny Parks where we turned left to San Juan Capistrano Mission & town of Capistrano, a distance of about 11 miles. From Capistrano, traveled NE up San Juan Canyon along San Juan Creek which is quite a sizable stream following the 2 or 3 days of rain. Followed up the Canyon to San Juan Hot Springs, a distance of 13 mi. There, found I was getting out of the valley bottom country which looked best for gophers so turned around and retraced route back about 2 miles. There I stopped and found good.
