There were 5 eggs in the nest; all light bluish and spotted with black on the larger end. Little Shasta River, 2900 ft., 8 mi. E Montague, Siskiyou Co., Calif. Broke camp at Big Spring at 4 P.M. and drove via Grenada and Montague to this region where we spent considerable time trying to get permission to camp and finally had to camp beside the road. We talked to the owner of the ranch just west of us. He reports woodchucks in "Martens meadows" Soz Table Rock.
