Palmer 1935 Henryaug. Park Creek, 2900 ft., 1/2 mi. SW Edgewood, Siskiyou Co., Calif. May 12 cont'd. In the afternoon, drove to Gazelle with Johnson. We looked for gopher workings W of Gazelle, but couldn't find any. It appeared to be too dry here for them. Shot 6 Horned Larks in the dry fields of grass or grain. Most of them were shot from fence posts along the road. This place designated as: 3 mi. NW Gazelle, 2750 ft., Siskiyou Co., Calif. We then drove back toward Gazelle on the main highway and turned off toward the E about 1 mi. N Gazelle. We found a place along this road, where there was quite a patch of very fine sand, drifted up into low dunes and overgrown with Artemisia sp. Here we stopped and set 25 gor.-size mouse traps. This place we called: 3 mi. NE Gazelle, 2750 ft., Siskiyou Co., Calif. We Then drove on till we crossed Park Creek. Here we stopped and looked for gopher workings but they were rather scarce and I only made 3 sets. This place we designated as: Park Creek 2750 ft., 3 mi. NW Edgewood, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
