Also in the Coulter Pine + Black Oak saw 5 species not recorded in the first 50 minutes: Lake Sparrow , 14 Martin , 4 Flicker , 1 Steller Jay , 1. Unknown , 3 The unknown was seen perched on the tip of the leader of Coulter Pine. It is about the a slightly smaller size + shape of a Meadowlark. The outertail feathers are white. Utters harsh call at intervals "pata" or "tank". From 12:10-12:20 took census back toward camp in willows along a dry creek bed through grain fields. Recorded 9 individuals of 4 species: Calif Jay, 4 Western Kingbird, 2 Plain Titmouse , 2 Bewick Wren , 1. To contrast with the above, took census from 12:20-12:25 in oaks at the edge of the grain field (Blue Oak + Valley Oak - grass or weeds beneath). Recorded 41 birds of 11 species: T
